Oh yeah *

Repeat *

By a practitioner in Europe

(Clearwisdom.net) July 21, 2011, was Belgium's National Day and marked Belgium's 180th anniversary of Belgium becoming a sovereign and independent nation. The Divine Land Marching Band and a Falun Gong exercise demonstration participated in the festivities for the first time this year, adding joy and splendor to Belgium's National Day Celebration.

About 300,000 people gathered in Brussels to watch a grand parade and share the joy of the holiday. The organizers divided the day's event into two parts: one was National Day parade, the other was various activities in the Royal Park in Brussels.

Following a military parade, Brussels Mayor Fred Tillman arrived at the starting point of the parade route to begin the civilian component of the parade. Among 15 parade entries this year, the Divine Land Marching Band was close to the front. Immediately following was a group of Falun Gong practitioners dressed in golden yellow kassayas demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises.

The Story of Bao Caixia

The Story of Bao Caixia

Bao Caixia used to live a comfortable life.
However, after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started
to suppress Falun Dafa practitioners in 1999, her life changed.
What was the life like during these 12 years of oppression,
for a seemingly meek lady like Bao Caixia?
Let's listen to her story.

Bao Caixia is from Dalian, a coastal city in China.

She used to work for the Dalian International Airport
for a large salary and good benefits.
Her husband, Cao Zuimeng, was a celebrated painter,
TV program director and associate professor.
In 2002, he received Silver Award of “World Peace Award”,
conferred by University of Houston .

Nevertheless, Bao still felt something was missing in her life.

Bao Caixia: I began practicing Falun Dafa in Jan. 1996
together with my husband.
At that time, I was suffering from multiple illnesses.

I was also mentally stressed too,
not knowing why humans live in the world.
I tried in vain to find a way that could enable me to live
a worry-free, pure and noble life.
Later, when I saw the book Zhuan Falun,
I realized that this was what I was looking for.
So, together with my husband, I began to devote
my heart and soul to the cultivation of Falun Dafa.”

After 3 years of Falun Dafa cultivation,
Bao attained both physical health and mental peace.
But on July 20, 1999,
Bao and tens of millions of other Falun Dafa practitioners
faced a tough choice between
persisting in her faith and giving up her belief.

Bao: As soon as the CCP began its crackdown on
Falun Dafa practitioners, we faced two choices.
The first one was to persist in our faith,
but we might end up being dismissed from work,
sent to jail or even persecuted to death by the CCP.
The other choice was to follow the CCP
and do whatever it requested us to do.
In doing so, we would keep our material interests,
but lose our dignity and morality as human beings.

Bao and her husband took the first choice,
which brought a tremendous change to her life.

Bao was threatened by her workplace, looked down upon by
people around her, and monitored and harassed by the police.
In order to avert from police arrest, in 2000,
she started a vagrant life with her new-born daughter.

No matter how she tried to avert from the police,
she was still arrested and sent to a detention center.
The police told her, there were only two choices: she would
be either sent to a labor camp, or sentenced to a jail term.
The police said that
there was no way for her to leave freely.

Bao: So, I thought that to get out of the detention center alive,
the only way out was a hunger strike.
For more than 20 days on a hunger strike,
my health was at risk and I passed out.
In fear of the responsibility of my death while in their custody,
the police sent me home temporarily.
However, when they saw that I recovered,
they took me back into custody again.

As the persecution went on,
Bao's daughter grew up.

Bao: In June 2007, I was arrested.
A few hours later, my husband was also arrested by police.
When the child saw the police arresting her daddy,
she collapsed to the ground, screaming and shouting for papa.
Indifferent to the distress of the child,
the police took both my husband and the child into the car.

Bao said, she felt sorry that she was unable to
give her daughter a normal life.

Bao: I felt that it was too much for a 7-year-old to take.

She was supposed to have a happy and worry-free childhood,
but instead, she was fearful of her parents' arrests everyday.
So, even today, my child tells me that
when she sees the police, she is still afraid.”

In Dec. 2007, Bao and her family escaped overseas,
to avoid being persecuted by the CCP.
Although the persecution still continues, she believes that
the cloud-covered sky in China will eventually clear up.

She wrote a poem to speak from her heart:
Twelve years of rugged path, inexpressible by human words.
Despite narrow escape from the purgatory,
no regrets for what I have done.
Conscience and justice are above all.

Crash: A Natural Disaster? (W/ English Subtitles)

Crash: A Natural Disaster?

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) announced on July 28

that the cause of the high-speed rail crash was
serious flaws in the design of the signaling equipment.
It was the first time the CCP admitted that the train crash
was caused by human error, rather than a natural disaster.
It's puzzling to many that
the CCP announced the cause five days after the crash.
There are also other doubtful points to be investigated.

The crash investigation team of the CCP's State Council
had a plenary meeting on July 28.
On the meeting,
the Shanghai Railway Bureau chief stated that
the crash was a result of signaling equipment defects
at Wenzhou South Station.
Due to these defects,
a red light was wrongly displayed as green.
Also, the operator didn't give warnings
before the crash.

Wei Jingyi, former project quality control engineer of
Railway Vehicles Co. Ltd., regards this as a fundamental error.
He says that it alone shows that the high-speed rail system
is far from meeting the operational requirements.

Wei Jingyi: If the signal equipment indeed malfunctioned,
displaying a green light instead of a red one,
regardless whether the problem is of design or quality,
the system was not tested before it was put to use.
This is by no means acceptable.

Wei said that the signal and communication systems
play important roles in the high-speed rail system.
However, they are not important enough
to be the main cause of the crash.

Wei Jingyi: Signal light systems are in fact not quite suitable
for the high-speed railways.
The signal systems are extra and non-essential,

because when a train travels at a speed higher than 200 km/h,
the driver can hardly identify the lights.
The train is operated automatically,
not relying on signals.

The parent of the signal equipment design company for
Wenzhou South Station,
China Railway Signal & Communications Corporation,
acknowledged openly on July 28 that
the design of the signal equipment
at Wenzhou South Station did have flaws,
and the company would assume due responsibility.

However, Wei believes that this public apology was
an attempt of the design company to create a diversion.
The firm tries to use the excuse of “equipment malfunction”
to cover up the railways' major administration loopholes.

Wei: It indicates that the automatic braking
and the signaling systems didn't work.
However, dispatching is more important than both,
because dispatchers communicate with the trains.
Therefore, it works faster than signals.

Even if signals don't work,
proper dispatching can still avoid a crash.

Radio France Internationale commented that

the authorities' preliminary conclusion had explained
the cause of the rear-end crash by the second train.
However, it didn't explain the malfunction of the first train.

People are also concerned about whether the signals and
dispatching system were independent of each other.

The article said that the CCP authorities,
especially the Ministry of Railways,
defend the high-speed rail projects with full force.

They promised that there are no technical or security problems
in the operation and transportation management.
It is only too early to jump into conclusion
about the CCP's claims, without the test of time.

Lawyers: Lai's Clemency Violates Law (W/ English Subtitles)

Lawyers: Lai's Clemency Violates Law

After repeated negotiations between China and Canada,
Lai Changxing, the main culprit behind the Yuan Hua Case,
China's biggest smuggling case of 12 years ago,
was recently sent back to China.
China previously promised to not sentence Lai to death.

How will Lai be punished, then?
Some lawyers said that Lai's death pardon is against the law.
Where as some scholars believe that
Lai's case is a good opportunity to eradicate corruption.

2 were sentenced to life imprisonment,
and 58 people received lesser sentences.

Guo Lianhui, lawyer from Jiangxi Province, said that

with 14 people sentenced to death in the case,
the fact that the principal culprit Lai was granted clemency
shows the utter disregard for the law by
the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP).
How can administrative officials be above the law?

Attorney Guo Lianhui: According to the law,

the CCP should not have promised Lai's clemency,
after extraditing him back to China.
Because there were so many people sentenced to death
and so many high-level officials involved in the case,
if the CCP indeed carries out such a promise,
it will indicate that China is not governed by the rule of law.

Guo also said that in an effort to extradite Lai to China,
the CCP promised not to kill him.
It makes people curious about the possible power struggle
behind the scenes.
He said that at that time, the then-CCP leader Jiang Zemin
ordered the investigation into Lai's case dropped,
because a lot more high-ranking officials were involved.

But how to properly try Lai has become
a hot topic of the Chinese society.

Zhu Xinxin, an overseas writer from “China Observer,”
believes that Lai's case will surely be secretly tried.
As to the CCP's promise of clemency in Lai's case,
Zhu does not trust the CCP's promise.

Zhu Xinxin: “Although the CCP promised not to sentence
him to death. (I believe that) it's hard to say.
As per an online rumor, since Lai knows so many secrets,
if he goes against the CCP, he might be killed.
The CCP will find an excuse, like a deadly illness,
and makes him disappear forever.
That is pretty easy for the CCP to do.”

However, Guo analyzed the case from a legal perspective

and said that there is a chance that
Lai could still be granted clemency.

Guo: If he gives an honest testimony which reveals
a lot of previously hidden facts,
or if he can make other contributions to the state,
then he will stand a better chance to be granted clemency.

Tie Liu, a writer, said that when Lai returned to China,
every corrupt official was so afraid.
However if the CCP's current head Hu Jintao uses Lai
only as a tool for his power struggle,
then that will be China's tragedy
and China's corruption will never stop.

Tie Liu: “If (Lai) is a sharp sword (used to end corruption),
to use it only for power struggle will be a pity.
If that is the case, corruption in China will never stop.

If Hu Jintao cares about the nation and wants to make major
contributions to China's history and be well remembered,
then he should use this case to look into the vast corruption
taking place in China and dismiss all those corrupt officials.”

But Zhu Xinxin believes that in China,
nothing is certain.

Zhu Xinxin said: “In a communist society without laws,
any prediction is uncertain, because it is an iron curtain,
with everything taking place on the backstage;
even the tyrants cannot predict their own future.
In such a system, people have no sense of security and
no one knows what the next step is going to be.”

Zhu Xinxin hopes that Lai can tell what he knows,
or at least leave some evidence of the CCP.
If the truth cannot be exposed immediately,
at least it can someday be brought to light.

After 380 Days of Suffering, Kindergarten Teacher Released From Chinese Labor Camp
Father risks all to rescue his daughter

By Hong Ning
Epoch Times Staff

A once vibrant kindergarten teacher returned home on July 11 weak, anemic, and emaciated, released from the Chinese labor camp that had held her for over one year. She likely owes her freedom to her father's vigorous protest of a last-minute attempt by regime thugs to hold her even longer.

Hu Miaomiao had been abducted from her home in Zhangjiako City in Hebei Province in northeastern China on June 15, 2010 and was sentenced on June 26 to one year in the Shijiazhuang Women’s Forced Labor Camp for what the Chinese Communist Party calls “reform through labor.”

Miaomiao, a tall woman who is described as having a kind and gentle manner, was 25 years old. She practiced Falun Gong and the local 610 Office—a nationwide, extra-constitutional Party organ created to “eradicate” Falun Gong—accused her of telling other people about the benefits of the spiritual practice.

During her 380 days in labor camp, the staff sought to “transform” Miaomiao—force her to give up her belief in Falun Gong.

Miaomiao suffered torture, including being hung by handcuffs around her wrists, prolonged sessions of beating, and violent sexual abuse. During a grotesque torture session on Aug. 28, 2010, conducted by a prostitute and two drug addicts on the orders of camp guards, Miaomiao’s pubic bone was fractured and she suffered injuries to her uterus.

She was denied medical treatment, although she was in constant pain and had difficulty walking for months afterwards, according to reports from insiders at the labor camp submitted to the Falun Gong website Clearwisdom.net.

er father, Hu Mingliang, came to take her home on July 11, having traveled the 310 miles from Zhang Jiakou City. Before the two of them could board the train that would take them home, six individuals from the local 610 Office forced them into a car.

The 610 officials, after having already extended her labor camp stay by 15 days, intended for Miaomiao to spend another month in a local brainwashing center. While in the car Miaomiao, clearly very ill, vomited a few times.

Her father then put his life on the line for his daughter, according to the account Hu later gave to The Epoch Times. He told the 610 officials that they had already subjected her to extreme cruelty and yet “you still want to continue abusing her. I firmly oppose this. Whoever wants to take her has to do it over my dead body.”

The 610 personnel were deterred by Hu’s firm stand, and, finally, they sent father and daughter home.

“They are so evil and despicable. Words cannot describe how evil they are,” said Hu to The Epoch Times.

Hu said that Miaomiao was emaciated, very weak, and anemic due to constant abuse. Her condition is heart-rending, he said. “Miaomiao is my only daughter, and I will protect her, whatever it takes.”

In January, after months of fruitless visits to the labor camp, Hu had been allowed to see his daughter for the first time since her abduction. After he learned what had been done to her, Hu gave up his livelihood as owner of a little fruit stand business in order to concentrate on rescuing her. With no source of income, he mortgaged his house so that he could hire a lawyer.

After visiting Beijing to appeal to higher authorities on behalf of his daughter, he was, on his next trip to the labor camp, taken away to a “black prison” (a secret, off the books prison) run by the county government. He was held there for a little over three weeks and then released.

The lawyer he hired was never allowed to see Miaomiao and eventually was forced by his law firm to drop the case.

Media outside of China have reported on Miaomiao’s case, which may have helped in her eventual release.

CCP Downplays Lai’s Case (W/ English Sub)

CCP Downplays Lai’s Case

The prime suspect in the Yuan Hua smuggling case of Xiamen,
Lai Changxing, was repatriated to China on July 22.
The Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) media
downplayed the event and its importance.
Let’s hear what Chinese citizens are saying about it.

Lai Changxing was returned to China on July 22,
after being on the run for 12 years.
He was immediately arrested
upon his arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport.

Throngs of reporters were waiting for him when he arrived,
but missed him due to prior arrangements made by the CCP.
The CCP’s mouthpieces Xinhua News and CCTV later
released selected pictures and videos of the event.

Although it is a sensational and newsworthy event,
both the Xinhua and the People's Daily
failed to headline this piece of news.
In addition, no keyword search terms could be found
on either of the two media’s website.

Even the Southern Metropolitan Daily,
which is renowned for its bold journalism,
followed other media across China.

It published news about the event using the CCTV’s official
video release and the Xinhua’s articles.

Southern Metropolitan Daily’s editor, Deng Zhixin,
told Voice of America that
due to the delicate nature of the topic,
local media must report the event as Xinhua does.

Although the CCP tries to keep a low profile on Lai’s return,
Chinese netizens are intensely concerned about the event.

According to the CCP’s own statistics, search engine giants,
Pangu.com and Baidu.com, reported that
Internet searches related to Lai’s return proved to be
a hit among Chinese netizens last week.

According to Reuters,
Lai’s repatriation was widely welcomed in China,
because the people’s resentment towards corruption is growing
and they don’t want corrupt officials escaping justice.
Apart from the general media’s awareness of Lai’s status
as a pawn of the CCP 18th Congress,
a Xinjianger noted that the CCP wants to draw a clear line
between itself and corruption.

Xinjianger: The CCP repatriated Lai to give the public
the illusion that it is entrepreneurs that corrupt society, not them.
Lai could not manage to pull off his numerous crimes without
high-level officials in the background, dividing the spoils.
Lai is in fact a scapegoat.

Many people are very disappointed to know that those corrupt
CCP officials, who are just as guilty as Lai, still remain at large.”

Some think that it is not right to blame Lai
as the main actor in the Yuan Jua smuggling case.
Instead, it is those in the background who didn’t get caught,
those CCP officials, that are the main culprits in Lai’s case.

Mr. Li in Xiamen: CCP officials,
who bribed Lai, laid the ground for his corruption.”

It is said that it’s hard to assess Lai as a good or bad person,
given that it’s CCP that provided a platform for his corruption.
Some people have even showed sympathy towards Lai.

Tianjin resident: Lai Changxing is far better than the CCP.

At least he did a lot of good things for society, unlike the CCP
which did nothing good for society and is completely corrupt.
The CCP does everything for its own vested interest groups,
out of its own interests.”

After the Yuan Hua smuggling case surfaced,
CCP’s ex-Premier Zhu Rongji was enraged by Lai’s escape,
saying that Lai’s death cannot be enough
to compensate for the trouble he caused China’s society.

Lai’s town mate, Mr. Lu, from Jinjiang City in Fujian Province,
says that Lai did a lot to help local public welfare recipients.
Thus, these villagers are very sorry to hear that he was arrested.

Mr. Lu: People in Fujian believe that it is common sense that
the corrupt officials in Fujian are concealed by the authorities.
Eventually they all got promoted.

Lai’s personal safety, upon his return,
has also generated a lot of media attention.

Mr. Li in Xiamen: Lai is likely to end up dying from
an ‘accidental death,’
as the police station conceals the truth and
blocks all access to the details surrounding his death.

The author of “Truth Behind the Yuanhua Smuggling Case,”
Sheng Xue, thinks that the CCP may let Lai live for a while
to show their so-called “commitment to justice.”

Due to his high-profile case,
even Lai’s slightest ailment will make the CCP worried.

Questions about Train Crash (W/ English Sub)

Questions about Train Crash

On July 23, two high-speed trains rear-ended in Wenzhou.
It has caused more than 200 casualties by July 25.
However, before the cause is determined by an investigation,

China’s Ministry of Railways crushed and buried
the broken train carriages within 38 hours after the accident.
This raised the media’s and people’s doubts.
Meanwhile, the railway was reopened.

At 10:30 a.m. on July 25, within 38 hours after the train crash,
the railway was reopened,
despite many unanswered questions regarding the accident.

Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities explained that
the accident was due to lightning-induced equipment failure.
At first, the CCP’s mouthpiece media even praised
Pan Yiheng, the driver of the crashed train D301, as a hero.
The people, however, suspected "improper scheduling"
and "drowsy driving" to have caused the crash.

Some netizens raised ten questions about the accident and
demanded responses from the Ministry of Railways.
Others questioned the immediate burial of the wreckage.
Still others criticized the authorities for covering up the truth.

Netizens’ “Ten Questions” are:

1. When did the accident happen?

2. What equipment was destroyed by lightning?
How to prevent this in the future?

3. How did the "automatic block system" on
the second train function when it rear-ended the first train?

4. Why was D301 running behind D3115,
not according to their schedules?

5. Why was the railway reopened
before the accident investigation finishes?

6. Why were the wrecked train carriages buried
instead of being towed away for further investigation?

7. What is the exact number of casualties?

8. How come the officials of Railway Ministry were
appointed so quickly?
9. How long is the "run-in period" for motor trains?

10. How to compensate the victims?

Edmund Leung, ex-president of
Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, said,
"Under normal circumstances, regardless the weather,
mechanical or computer damages,
there should be enough time for the second train to stop.

It is the most important for a train to have
an automatic protection system.
With this system, when approaching another train,
the moving train should automatically brake.
Why didn’t that happen?
It is hard for me to conclude.”

When the rescue work finished at 2:00 a.m. on July 24,
authorities ordered to dig several large pits of 10m in diameter.
After demolishing the broken train carriages,
excavators smashed the debris and buried them in the pits.

Ministry of Railways explained that this was to
"make room for easy rescue."
However, the people suspected that the authorities tried to
“eliminate the criminal evidence.”

American website SinovisionNet reported that
in the afternoon of July 24,
the authorities announced that there was no more sign of life
inside the wrecked carriages and were about to demolish them.
However, soon after this announcement was made,
a child was rescued from one carriage.
Wang Yongping, spokesman of the Ministry of Railways,
said, "This can only be called a miracle of life."

Netizens have criticized the authorities for being “savage.”

They questioned, “Why didn’t you preserve the carriages
for investigation, but instead destroyed them?
The victims might have left something inside the cars.
They might even have recorded their wills on digital devices.

The accident also caused doubts from overseas media.

According to an article of Japan’s Daily News on July 25,

China's high-speed railway combined "foreign technology"
with a “made-in-China” control system.
This combination has led to the accident.

This constructional problem would inevitably
jeopardize the CCP leadership’s credibility,
since the CCP always showcased the high-speed railways
as a symbol of China’s economic development.

Edmund Leung: It is a security standard that
a train should have enough time to stop in front of obstacles.
I believe that these Chinese trains have such equipments.
However, why the equipments did not prevent the accident?
The authorities should carry out a thorough investigation. "

Although the CCP cannot control the railways,
they can, instead, control the media.
On July 24, the authorities held a press conference,

allowing only its mouthpiece medias, such as Xinhua News,
CCTV and People's Daily to enter.
All reporters present were outraged.

Some Chinese media professionals said that
they received notices from the Central Propaganda Department,
demanding them to use
only the information issued by the Ministry of Railways.
Media were forbidden to send reporters to investigate and
were required to control their subsidiary newspapers.

Falun Gong Survivors of Torture See Themselves Depicted in Art

Falun Dafa mothers and children honored in paintings

By Gary Feuerberg
Epoch Times Staff

(L to R)Zhenjie Yu, Chunmei Ma and Lianying Zhang, are three mothers who told their personal stories about the persecution and torture they experienced in communist China for practicing Falun Gong, on July 20, in Washington. (Gary Feuerberg/ Epoch Times)
WASHINGTON—Chunmei Ma was reminded of her life in China by a painting of a child who looks about 3 years old. Police are restraining his mother while other police are hauling away the family’s possessions, including his toys. The painting is called “House Raid” and the artist is Chongqi Yao.

This painting was one of several on exhibit July 19–20 at the John A. Wilson building, where the Washington mayor’s office is located and the D.C. Council meets. The exhibit has toured more than 40 countries and 200 cities.

The office of Councilmember Tommy Wells (D-Ward 6) sponsored the exhibit in the atrium of the building. The timing on July 20 was to mark the 12th anniversary of the effort launched by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1999 to “eradicate” Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa).

“The Art of Truth, Compassion, Tolerance International Art Exhibition,” consists of paintings by over 12 artists, who share in common the practice of Falun Gong. Falun Gong is a spiritual practice that involves doing five sets of meditative exercises and living according to the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.

“The artists have personally experienced suppression and imprisonment as a result of the persecution,” said Karen Chen, the coordinator for the exhibit. Chen said that the exhibit is a historic record of Falun Gong practitioners’ brutal persecution, as well as the serenity and peacefulness of the practice as practitioners attempt to safeguard justice and peace by upholding the principles of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance.

Persecuted Mothers and Children

The theme of the exhibit was how the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners has affected mothers and their families.

Ma, originally from Liaoyuan City (Jilin Province) in Northeast China, was separated from her 7-year-old son when she was arrested on Nov. 16, 1999, in Tiananmen Square and taken to Heihuizi Women Forced Labor Camp in Changchun (Jilin Province). She was arrested because she had appealed to the Beijing government to cease the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ma, 42, was in Washington with two other female survivors tortured for practicing Falun Gong: Zhang Lianying, 49, from Beijing, and Yu Zhenjie, 60, from Mudanjiang City (Heilongjiang Province) in Northeast China. They have been telling their stories to members of Congress and to attendees at the art exhibit.

Zhang and husband Niu Jinping were abducted in front of their 4-year-old daughter Qingqing, on April 20, 2008, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) arrested more than 500 practitioners in Beijing in the run-up to the 2008 Olympics. Zhang was sent in July 2008 to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp in Liaoning Province.

Zhang told New Tang Dynasty Television on May 23, “During holidays, Qingqing would hide in the bathroom in the middle of the night and cry. She told her aunt she missed mom and dad and wondered if we had anything good to eat.”

Yu’s daughter was a student at Heilongjiang University when Yu was sent to the Qiqihar Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in December 1999. The daughter, also a practitioner, was expelled from school, tortured, and brainwashed.

In October 2006, Ma crossed the border into Thailand in disguise. Yu also fled China to Thailand, coming stealthily through the mountains. Eventually both were caught and sent to a Thai refugee prison. Ma and Yu received U.N. refugee status and found asylum in the United States.

Zhang and Niu and their daughter Qingqing came openly to the United States on a commercial flight. By some miracle, they were able to get visas to leave, said Levi Browde, Falun Dafa Information Center spokesperson, quoted in an article by AFP.

All three mothers were lucky to have survived.

Zhang is the luckiest with both husband and daughter by her side. Qingqing was finally happy and smiling when told they are safe in this country. Ma has not seen her son since their last half hour together in 2006. Yu’s daughter’s whereabouts are unknown.

Ma said the guards beat her and once did not allow her to sleep for three days. Ma said they “were forced to labor 18 to 19 hours per day, but the camp administrator declared we only did six hours per day.”

In May or June 2000, orders went out from the CCP’s 610 Office—an extrajudicial Party organ that oversees the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners—to “transform” practitioners at Ma’s camp, to force them to renounce their belief in Falun Gong.

“As soon as a group of guards brought me to the interrogation room, their electric batons shocked me with two batons simultaneously around my neck. My skin instantly had red bumps, and the hair on the back of my neck burnt. They stomped on me, pulled my hair, hit me with their fists, and kicked me.”

Ma said her head ached, she was nauseous and in a weakened state. When she woke up after passing out, they would beat her again. Once she was cuffed for three days without a drop of water to the Death Bed, a metal bed that pulls one's limbs in four directions.

An account of the torture of Lianying Zhang can be read at the Clearwisdom website. Zhang described the Death Bed torture as “most excruciating” when the guards pulled the ropes fastened to poles of the bed with all their might.

“I was stretched more than 20 times. The longest session lasted three days and three nights. … I was stretched while the guards shocked my armpits, inner thighs, and other sensitive areas. I went into convulsions, and my flesh was burned. The wounds would not heal for a long time.”

Yu said she was sent to the Mudanjiang public hospital, where she was shackled with heavy anklets and injected with unknown drugs. She became incontinent as a result and the pain was greater than childbirth, she said. She lost consciousness and later her memory. When she was near death, her younger brother was able to get her released into his custody, and soon after, practitioners helped hide her and eventually helped her to escape to Thailand.

Thanks to being able to return to Falun Gong practice, she was able to walk again in less than two months, Yu said to the Epoch Times.

Yu spoke of being shamed when, for three days, police stripped off her clothes and let others watch. She could not move her body and was unable to resist.

Ma and Yu said they had good marriages, but due to pressure from the CCP, their husbands were coerced into divorcing them.

Blood Tested

Ma recounted physical checkups and injections she was given that left her with swollen legs and unable to walk. Her captors took her to the hospital to check her blood, but would not let her see the results. Later, after she came to the United States in September 2009, she learned about the organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners.

“I was almost butchered by the CCP for organs,” Ma said.

Two practitioners, Men Yanxi and Zhao Lianhua, who were in the same cell with her, did not have visible injuries to their bodies, but were carried out after losing consciousness after some unknown torture.

“I had a feeling they were both murdered. I tried looking for them, but their whereabouts are unknown.”

Professor Sen Nieh, chair of Mechanical Engineering at Catholic University of America and spokesperson for the Washington, D.C,. Falun Dafa Association, went with the three survivors to visit members of Congress on Capitol Hill, acting as their interpreter.

The group met with Legislature Correspondent Coalter Baker at the office of Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), where Nieh said he discovered, “They did not realize that they were candidates for organ harvesting when they were being detained until after they came to America and learned about it.”

Nieh said, “Practitioners get a physical exam and are blood tested. Because they are physically abused, tortured, and often killed, this cannot be for their health.”

Reactions

John Williams, a police officer, said of the painting depicting the police raid, “It shows human dignity taken away from the individual. … As we speak, they don’t subscribe to anything that really resembles humanity.”

Michael Anderson, who works in the attorney general’s office in the Wilson building, said, “That is unspeakable that atrocities could go on like this in this day and time. I don’t understand why anybody would want to torture anybody like that.”

Russell Campbell, chairman of the Montgomery County Human Rights Commission, said that opposition to the persecution must be put on the record. “This must stop and must stop now,” he said.

he~ yeh~

yeh~

TV Show出現的GIRL們

Baby)
You & I , look so fine

College Student: A Positive and Hopeful Outlook on Life

After practicing Falun Gong, Lin Lina knows what she wants and what she should do.

ENGLISH VERSION BELOW

College Student: A Positive and Hopeful Outlook on Life

By Clearwisdom correspondent Xia Yun from Taiwan

(Clearwisdom.net) Young people seem rarely to to have anything to do with cultivation. Most who practice qigong seem to do it for personal health reasons; yet, young people represent a large percentage of Falun Gong practitioners. In fact, there are many college students in Taiwan that practice Falun Gong. This is the experience of one such college student.

There are many colleges in central Taiwan, and many students, faculty, and college staff members that practice Falun Gong. Some colleges have regular Falun Gong group practice sites. National Chung Hsing University, Tunghai University, and Feng Chia University are the three most prestigious universities in central Taiwan; each has a large student enrolment. There are many Falun Gong practitioners in these three universities.

There are six graduate students who practice Falun Gong in National Chung Hsing University. One of them is Lin Lina, a second year graduate student in the Institute of Plant Diseases Science. She has been practicing Falun Gong for a year and a half, and it has changed her outlook on life.

After practicing Falun Gong, Lin Lina knows what she wants and what she should do.

Lin Lina learned of Falun Gong in the summer of her fourth year in college. Her high school friend's father loaned her a copy of Zhuan Falun. She was fascinated by the following sentence, “The entire life of a practitioner has been rearranged. One's palm reading, face reading, birth data, and all messages in one's body are already different and have been changed.” (Zhuan Falun) When she read that, she felt she had found a beacon of hope. Her heart was filled with joy.

Lin was confused about life prior to practicing Falun Gong. People pursue things their entire lives. Why? Everyone goes through birth, old age, illness, and death. Yet, he cannot control his own life. What is the meaning of life? When she read in Zhuan Falun that one's life can be altered through cultivation practice, she felt hopeful and happy. She thought that she might be able to find the meaning of life and be the master of her own life. She was determined to take the path of cultivating Falun Dafa.

Prior to her practice, Lin was easily influenced and wanted to pursue whatever others had. As a result, she often did things half-heartedly and didn't have a firm sense of her own values. She held a strong desire to compete, comparing herself to others and competing with them. There was tension between others and herself. Whenever there was conflict or trouble, she wouldn't admit her own shortcomings. Instead, she always complained about others. The more she complained, the more upset she became. Her mood fluctuated a great deal because of that. When stressed, she would try to talk to others, go shopping, or go out to release tension. However, it only made her more stressed and didn't solve the fundamental problem.

After Lin started practicing, whenever she encountered a problem, she would discover where she fell short by studying the books of Falun Dafa. Then she knew how to correct herself, and it helped solve the conflicts.

One incident impressed Lin the most. Her instructor once criticized her research work sternly. Everyone thought she would defend herself and argue with her instructor. Even though she was hurt, she didn't say a thing about it. Instead, she continued to do her work well. One student saw it and praised her tolerance. Lin knew it was a test of her xinxing and knew how to deal with the problem.

Through her cultivation practice, Lin learned that the purpose of doing things well is not to obtain praise and compliments, nor is it to compete with others. It is to fulfill one's own responsibilities. Through the process of looking inward, she realized that she had the mentality of finishing things in a superficial way and not paying enough attention to the quality. She also had the desire to show off when working on a project. This is what had tired her the most. She realized that the correct attitude is to do what we are supposed to do conscientiously. So, from then on, she gave up her petty mindset and tendency to bicker and tried to be considerate of others. The conflicts were resolved naturally.

She could never have reached those understandings prior to practicing. Lin realized that the key is to do one's own work well. She no longer worries about what people think of her. She worked harder on her research, and her instructor became more confident of her abilities.

Nowadays Lin gets along with others easily. She feels that cultivation has helped her understand herself and change her notions and attitude. As Lin discovered, only then can one eliminate worries and attachments and become a master of his or her own life.

Lin is no longer confused about her life. She knows what she wants and what she should do. She is once again positive and hopeful.
